We’ve Been Adopted!

As in “we” I mean my class.  :)  A sweet 2nd grade class down the hall adopted us during the week of CRCT!  It is the most thoughtful thing I’ve experienced in a while.
The 2nd graders from Ashley’s class have been writing us letters each day this week.  They also made this inspirational banner wishing us good luck!  They all signed it and had it hanging outside our door first thing Monday morning.
It has truly been an inspiration to my kids.
Each morning they get an extra dose of positivity and encouragement!
My kids wrote back to the 2nd graders.  They expressed their gratitude, but also wanted to share a few tips about the CRCT.
“It’s really long.   You have sit there for over an hour.”
“You can’t say anything!
“Your teacher doesn’t help you at all.”
It’s funny to hear their perspective of it.  LOL!
Another thing I’ve told my kids is:
If you’re testing this week, I wish you the BEST of luck!  We have Science tomorrow and SS Friday.  Then we have our Spring Fling/Carnival Friday after school.
Here’s to hoping for a fabulous week/Spring Fling!

  1. My first graders wrote notes to our gardening buddies. They are a 4/5 combo class. We sent over cookies with a note because they are a bunch of smart cookies.

  2. That's so sweet of y'all!

  3. This is such a great idea! In the past I have had my kids make and decorate banners to hang in our hallway. My third graders take "the test" and the 4th and 5th graders do as well, and we are all in the same hallway so its a fun hallway decoration. So cute for the younger kiddos to share their kind thoughts with the older kids though! :o)

  4. I wish we did this at our school. We would adopt a classroom. I’m having a giveaway please stop by http://littlelearnersinc.blogspot.com/2013/04/science-writing-and-art-oh-my-and.html

  5. Love that idea! Wish we could do that, but our 2nd grade is at a different school. This year, I wrote a letter home to my parents asking them to write a note to their child for each day of our tests! I hope I get a great response from it.

  6. I love, love, love the idea of being "adopted"! I'm suggesting that to my principal for next year!!!
