Happy New Year’s!!!

Happy 2013!!!  I hope everyone had a fun-filled, safe New Year’s Eve!
We’ll all be headed back to school in the next few days.  As adults, we usually make resolutions.  Now, keeping them is a different story.  πŸ™‚  But how about your students?  I wonder if they’re setting goals and making resolutions?  Do they even know what resolutions are?
When I go back to school, I’m going to share this book with my students:

I want to make sure that my students understand what resolutions are and why people make them.  Then we’re going to brainstorm different goals and resolutions they can have.

For instance, reading two chapter books each week or reaching a certain goal on one of our educational computer programs at school.

Finally, the students will complete the following goal setting activity:

The pack also includes a bulletin board/display idea:

Click on any of the four pics to check out the pack in more detail.
It’s also listed in my TpT and TN stores.

And be sure to stop by Denise’s blog at Sunny Days to check out more New Year’s activities and ideas!

Thank you for the New Year's book suggestion. I also liked your bulletin board TPT idea for using it, and I will be purchasing it to use with our Poetry Pals. Thanks, and happy New Year to you and your class!
