I’m always searching for ways to motivate both myself and my kids. So when I ran across this poster tonight, I knew I needed to share it!

I love these monkeys! And the message is awesome!
Instead of sitting back and zoning out when things get tough, try to find the opportunity to speak up and make a change. If that’s possible. :) Trust me – I know we’ve all experienced those meetings or staff developments where it all seems like too much. But maybe (just maybe!) there’s a way for us to make things easier. It may be a small change, but it’s a start!
So my goal for this school year: try to find ways to make difficult situations better. One of my past administrators said, “If you come to me with a problem, also come with a possible solution.” I’m not trying to conquer the world, but at least I can try to make small changes that will brighten things up for myself, other educators, and the students we teach!
What’s your “teacher goal” this year?!

Since I'm not teaching in a classroom this year and just blogging and creating/writing curriculum full time – My goal is to get more familiar and fluent with the common core standards. When I left my school 2 years ago, the CCS standards were just starting to wiggle their way in…so I've had to basically learn them on my own and boy it's a LOT!

That's a great goal, Rachael! Not sure about NY, but the Georgia DOE site has some great info regarding CCSS!
Great goal, but I also love what your previous administrator said about coming with a possible solution along with the problem you are bringing! Something to think about! Definitely!
I know, right?! At first, I didn't know how to take her statement. But after some thought, I think I would say the same thing if I were in control/leadership position.
