I have to admit, when I saw this movie playing in the TV guided, I HAD to check it out! It's called "Gridiron Gang." I had never heard of it before and was intrigued by the title.
The movie is a perfect example of what we as teachers mean to some (if not all) of our students. No matter where they come from, we love them and can be such amazing role models for them.
Of course I loved the football aspect of the movie, but the message hit me even harder! I can only hope that my encouragement and community building can help my students make the right choices and stay on track throughout their lives. :)

Aww! That's awesome, Audrey!!!
DeleteWow! I can't believe that you've never seen that movie! That's the first thing that I thought of when I first saw your blog. It's a great movie. I'm not really a fan of "The Rock", but he did a great job in this movie. I always get all teary-eyed at the end when they show the success stories at the end.
ReplyDeleteI know, right?! And yes, he did an amazing job in this one!
DeleteIncredible! This is another one my husband and I need to add to our "sports motivation" movies list. If you haven't seen Kenny Chesney's video for "Boys of Fall" check out the snippet of it on iTunes. The song alone is incredible, but the video is AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting this-
