We’re in DC for vacation and we couldn’t have picked a better time. It’s Memorial Day and the city is going all out to show remembrance and respects to all who have served or who are still serving our country. It has been amazing going from monument to monument, memorial to memorial, learning more about our country an showing my respect and appreciation. I hope any celebrations you’re havin are fun and safe ones. But please remember the true reason for the holiday.

I'm sure that was an amazing time to be there! I've never been, but I would so love to go one day. My husband and my brother are both Marine veterans having fought in Desert Storm and the current Iraqi conflict. We never forget around her.

My parents took my brothers and I to DC when I was in high school. They talked about the trips for years and wanted to make sure they took us at a time when we could all appreciate it. (My younger brother and I are 7 years apart.) I hope you're having a great time; it sounds like you are!
