Reader's Workshop

I'm absolutely LOVING how pumped up my students are about reading!  I love how each day when reading is over and we have to go to Specials, they moan and groan!!!  There are post-it notes in books, kids writing in reading response journals - it's a teacher's dream!

But I wanted to make sure that my students took this passion for reading HOME and anywhere else they end up.  So we made an anchor chart titled "Where do readers read?"  As soon as they listed a few places, the ideas started pouring out of them.  Here's our anchor chart:

It is my hope that my students read ANYWHERE and EVERYWHERE!  Keep that passion!

  2. I love this idea and am going to add it to my list of possible mini-lessons! Amazing! A few of my kids have caught the reading bug and are carrying their books with them everywhere! Recess! Field Trips! Lunch! It's awesome.
