FREEBIE! Say No To Drugs Writing Activity!

Here's an activity I started with my students today.  After talking about the dangers and consequences of drugs, we dove into a writing activity.  We started our prewriting with a graphic organizer about why we shouldn't do drugs.  Then the students wrote a rough draft in their journals.  Tomorrow we will revise/edit our stories and then publish them on this fancy, colorful paper!  We are SO excited because we're planning on making a hallway display with our writing!!!

  1. Thanks for sharing! I like how you build in the positive aspect by asking the students to draw them doing "something REALLY cool." Excited to use this with my students next week...and post them in the hall for others to see!

    1. You're welcome! I hope you and your kids truly enjoy this activity! It's a great conversation starter about their futures...gotta get them on the right track early. :)

  2. Our elementary school is involved because the Seniors in the high school have created various "Days" to Turn your Back on Drugs: Wear your shirt backward, etc. Then they do an assembly to drive the point home! Great stationary for writing about what they will learn this week! THANKS!
