Beautiful Pigs?! (and a writing freebie)

You bet!  Thanks to one of my great colleagues for showing me this book and activity!  First we read this book:

Then I did a couple examples on the board:

Finally the kids wrote their own "I Love ____" stories in their writing journals.  They had a blast!  Because we're taking the ITBS this week, we had to squeeze in Writing at the end of the day.  The kids didn't want to stop writing when it was bus call!  Monday I am going to give them this special paper.  They will choose one of their "I Love ____" stories to use in a class book.  There's a spot at the bottom for the kids to add an illustration.  This could also be used as a hallway display.  Heck, it could be BOTH!  :)  Click the picture below to snag your own copy!
